"Spy duck, why I am one of yours?"
This is a dialogue with characters from the historical and contemporary news, extracts of movies, books, songs, poetry, and theater. The poet Naguib Sorour is answering to the puppet Abla Fahita who has been condemned to die by Spider. Farid Al Atrash is commenting on that and Mohamed Abdelaziz is speaking about revolutions.
The project deals with the city of Cairo and its complexities in the aftermath of the revolution. Also, it raises questions about "Arabism" and the potential links between Arab people.
In the performance,varied media are used: clips of classic and contemporary music, parts of messages sent from strangers on facebook, movies, poetry, novels and dance.
The text of the performance was written in collaboration with Alaa Abdelhamid - visual artist and writer. The choreography was developed in collaboration with Sally Thomas - psychiatrist, writer and belly dance trainer.
The book can be used as a guide to reenact the performance.
