Ghita Skali (born 1992 in Casablanca) is an artist based in Amsterdam. She studied in France, first at Villa Arson, Nice then at the post-graduate program of the Fine Arts School in Lyon. She was a De Ateliers (Amsterdam) participant between 2018 and 2020.
Ghita has a multidisciplinary practice which encompasses installations, videos and interventions. She uses odd news, rumors and historical facts to disrupt institutional power structures. Her work blends humor and critics with outcomes that penetrate channels which go beyond the exhibition space, as alternative trade of goods, (il)legal documents, and things you take home.
She exhibited recently at Kunsthal extra City (Antwerp), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Le 18 (Marrakech) and at the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam).
